How to install a Demo Version of Retail Control

1: In windows explorer select the folder to which you have downloaded version 3 from the web then double click on version 3 (Diagram 1 below was downloaded into my documents).

2: You will then see Winzip Self-Extracter (see diagram 2 below) click on unzip.

3: When the file has unzipped click ok (see diagram 3 below) this will create a folder called C:\BLEEPTMP.

4: C:\BLEEPTMP will be created on your C drive (see diagram 4a below) One you have found C:\BLEEPTMP open the file and look for setup within the file (diagram 4b below shows an enlarged version of the setup file). One you have found the file called setup double click it and Bleep will begin the installation.

5: A welcome screen will be displayed once the setup starts, when you have read the welcome note click NEXT. (see diagram 5 below)

6: You will then see the licensing agreement which you should read and then click Yes (see diagram 6 below)

7: The next screen you will see is a screen saying SELECT PROGRAMME DIRECTORY (diagram 7 below) Bleep will install on to the C drive however if you click on Browse (see diagram 8 below) you can change to a different drive if you need to otherwise click on NEXT to continue with the install.

8: You will then see a message asking if you would like to create a new Bleep folder say YES to this question and continue with the install (see diagram 9 below).

9: Once the folder had been created e.g C:\Bleep click on next (see Diagram 10 below)

10: A message will appear saying DEMOSTRATION COPY ONLY NOT FOR RESALE click on OKand then click NEXT (see diagram 11 below)

11: You will need to click on INSTALL DEMO, then choose the package you wish to Install click the box and select either GENERAL MERCHANDISE, FASHION, HOSPITALITY OR SUPERMARKET depending on your business you must choose only one of these options. You must choose RETAIL CONTROL BY BLEEP and select the option for A SINGLE USER.

NOTE: If you are installing FASHION you will need to select RETAIL CONTOL BY BLEEP first before you can select the FASHION option. Place a tick in the box by INSTALL DEMO DATA if you would like some demonstration data in your package, you will need demo data to run historical reports. (see Diagram 12 below) now click on NEXT.

12: Place a tick in the box by SALES INVOICING and LOYALTY and add 3 by the number of branches. You must install 3 branches for the demo data to be relevant (see diagram 13 below)

13: You now see a system test result which shouldn't have any errors if this is the case click on NEXT if you have errors you may have to re-install Bleep again.(see diagram 14 below)

14: You will now see a summary of the package you have selected (see diagram 15 below) if all the details are correct click on next if they are not click on BACK and make the necessary changes.

15: The installation will now copy over a series of files (see diagrams 16 and 17 below)

16: Two messages will appear (see Diagram 18 and 19 below) which will confirm entries in the windows registery providing the install has been successful you should click OK to both these messages. Bleep will now have competed the install please re-start your PC and once the PC has rebooted you should see a Retail Control V3 icon on the desk top, double click the icon to open Bleep.

17: Historical reports will only run from this package if you have install demo data, when running a historical report from this package be sure to enter the date range using February 2002 e.g. Start date: 01/02/2002 and End Date : 28/02/2002 once you have entered your date range you will need to enter branch number 3 and click ok for the report to run. The report will then show you some history.
