Background

Lynx Womenswear, based in Harrogate, is one of the North of England's premier designer outlets. The store boasts 3,000 square feet of space devoted to women's fashion with over sixty international brands available to customers.

This relaxed, spacious store has featured in Fashion UK and been awarded numerous industry accolades for its approach to fashion retail. Guy Hudson, Proprietor says ‘I am a firm believer that a company with a personality, rather than a faceless corporate image, appeals to the customer.'

Solution

The company originally ran a DOS based stock control system, which had limited flexibility. Lynx chose to upgrade to the latest Windows solution, Retail Control from Bleep Computing. The solution encompasses touch screen point-of-sale terminals, hand held stock taking units and remote ordering software.

As part of the system implementation Bleep transferred existing product data and customer information. This alleviated the need for duplicate data entry and the re-labelling of existing products.

The Bleep solution enables customer profiling through its loyalty software and generates accurate reports by season, supplier and style to keep track of the latest trends.
